Projects

With the help of local people, RAFT plans to identify and manage a range of projects of benefit to residents and visitors. Current projects include:

Public conveniences in Rosemarkie and Fortrose – operating these for the benefit of locals and visitors alike, ensuring they are kept in a good state of repair and provide a welcome facility.

Renovation of the public conveniences – with the benefit of funding provided by The Highland Council and the Scottish Government, it was possible to significantly improve the toilets at the two sites. This included restoring the accessible toilet to full use at Fortrose, installing floor tiling at both sites, providing new washbasins, heating and water heating facilities at Fortrose, and at Fortrose, to provide an electricity supply.

Artwork depicting the history and heritage of the area – with the benefit of funding provided from a local developer through The Highland Council, we are enlisting the help of local artists to work with groups of people from the community to design and construct artworks for display in the villages.

Other projects – with your help we can identify further projects for which we can seek funding. Our status as a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Constituted Organisation) enables us to access sources of funding not available to other types of organisaton.
